Once having read this article I strongly agree with Pakistani For. Min. Shah Mehmood Qureshi that the U.S should not leave Afghanistan until the job has been completed by the U.S. Leaving this region results in the ultimate failure and that is not what the U.S needs. The U.S should not repeat the past like other nations have done by leaving Afghanistan in defeat. I agree with the military commanders in Afghanistan that the U.S should send an additional 40,000 troops into the region to provide support and stability to the country and the citizens."We're not leaving Afghanistan," Gates told CNN's Christiane Amanpour and former CNN Washington Bureau Chief Frank Sesno, "There should be no uncertainty in terms of our determination to remain in Afghanistan and to continue to build a relationship of partnership and trust with the Pakistanis. That's long term. That's a strategic objective of the United States."My personal belief is that staying in Afghanistan will in fact build stronger relations and have more confidence in their nations ability to rebuilt and start over.

The war should be over! Let's all have peace!
ReplyDeleteIts, not that easy. Its not a war per se its like a peace keeping effort at this point. But we do need additonal troops for support. This effort needs to be continued because the U.S does not a failure and can not afford to pull out.
